Welcome to Tiggywinkles Pre-School where we strive to meet the individual needs of every child, in a low ratio setting... Our dedicated and experienced staff ensure the learning environment and well prepared plans will get the very best from children in readiness for "big school", in local or private settings that surround our locale, with whom we have close partnerships to ensure a smooth transition. All children need love and nurturing to develop a sense of trust and security that later turns into confidence as they grow. Love, affection, encouragement and stimulation are key elements for your child’s growth, learning and development. This is why it is important to choose the right pre-school for you and ultimately, your child.
Tiggywinkles is a small, bespoke pre-school that offers a child-centred approach to early years education. We have amazing, experienced staff who love their profession and cultivate a love of learning in a supportive, caring environment. We have extensive experience of helping children who have English as an additional language. Home-cooked hot lunches are included in the fees for children who stay with us for four or more hours.
Learning takes place both in the bright, airy classroom and in the school's purpose built outdoor classroom. Tiggywinkles Pre-School follows the Early Years Foundation Stage together with elements of the philosophy and practices of Maria Montessori. Emphasis is placed on individual development, therefore the children are closely monitored and the curriculum altered according to individual needs and interests. We also appreciate the importance of traditional values such as sharing, compassion, thankfulness and kindness within the Tiggywinkles setting.
Finally, we are establishing strong, positive partnerships with many schools in the local area in order to assist with a smooth transition when it is time for the children to move onto ‘big school’.
