We are a self-advocacy group for people with learning disabilities. Our meetings are friendly and relaxed, starting with tea and coffee. We discuss things and working issues that are important to us. Sometimes we invite speakers to give talks.
We work to try and make things better for people with learning disabilities including people with complex needs. We do this in lots of ways including representing people with learning disabilities at important meetings such as the learning disability partnership board. Lots of people consult us to get our opinions and policies and services.
We are working on some projects including making a charter to tell people what people with learning disabilities want in terms of quality and experience from their support workers. We are also developing a half day training course in Learning Disability Awareness for people in Bracknell.
