Education Welfare Service

The Education Welfare Officers specialise in working with schools to develop effective systems, procedures and interventions and work in partnership with organisations to improve attendance and reduce persistent absence.

Their strategic approach supports schools and academies to build capacity around all these areas and maximise the effective use of data. Schools may also wish to commission a personalised approach to meet children’s needs.

Our officers undertake attendance casework, home visits, group work, lead on Common Assessment Framework and prepare evidence for court cases.
