The Memory Service is a specialist assessment service that aims to meet the needs of people who are concerned that they may have a memory problem. People may be referred to the Memory Service for an assessment of their memory.

The team is made up of specialist doctors, nurses and psychologists. The team assesses and diagnoses the nature of someone's memory difficulties, reports this to the family doctor and advices on future treatment or intervention; they may prescribe some medication.

The Memory Service nurse may refer people to other local services and support including support groups.
