The majority of schools across Bracknell Forest have a Family Support Advisor based within their school. This role offers a key link between families and their school. Parents and carers can access individual support for their family and discuss, in a confidential manner, any issues that may impact their child's education. The majority of the Family Support Advisors have been trained in "Pyramid for Parents" which is a programme aimed at promoting positive parenting techniques and has a strong emphasis on raising a child's self-esteem. In addition, many Family Support Advisors run regular parenting workshops which benefit the parents in their schools.
If you would like to discuss any issues regarding your child or family situation please contact your Family Support Advisor via your school. For more information regarding the Family Support Advisor role in schools please contact Wendy Such, Extended Services Officer.
