Kemp, Gemma

I have been childminding for over 10 years and love being and working with children.

I am married with 2 children and a Golden Retriever dog.

I love working with children and like to see them having fun and enjoying themselves. I am a caring person and am easy to talk to, whilst being able to teach children right from wrong. I am loyal and reliable and do not like to let people down. I offer healthy meals and fruit snacks throughout the day. I do lots of activities at home as well as attending parks and playgroups. I believe childminders are the next best thing to having a parent at home as they offer a home from home experience for the child whilst enabling the parent to have a single point of contact enabling both families to have a close relationship and work in partnership to aid their child's development.

Ofsted rated Good.

Local Offer Description

I am a child minder in the Bracknell area offering excellent home from home care.  Please contact me for further details.

1: How does the setting identify children with additional needs or SEND?

I constantly plan, complete regular observation and communicate with parents in order to develop children's development and to identify any additional needs or SEND.

2: How will I be informed / consulted about the ways in which my child is being supported?

I use daily diaries and discussion with parents every day the child is in my setting to keep parents and myself informed.

3: How will the setting adapt the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for my child's needs?

The most important thing for me is meeting each individual child's needs and developing each child at their own rate or learning.

4: What teaching strategies does the setting use for children with additional needs or learning difficulties?

I tailor teaching strategies for children with additional needs or learning difficulties as and when they are required.

5: What additional support does the setting provide for children with additional needs or SEND?

I will provide as much support as possible to all children/families.

6: How will the setting monitor my child's progress and how will I be involved in this?

I will use observations, daily diaries and discussion with parents.

7: How do you ensure children with additional needs or SEND can be included in the same activities as other children, including trips?

All children will be included.

8: How accessible is the building for children with mobility difficulties / wheelchair users?

Unfortunately my setting does not have a down stairs toilet so wheelchair users would not have accessibility.

9: How will you support my child's transition to a new setting or school?

I write reports on each child when they leave my setting for school/other child care to help the transition into a new setting.

10: How does the setting assess the overall effectiveness of its SEN provision and how can parents / carers take part in this evaluation?

I evaluate my setting continuously and I also ask for parent’s feedback by communication and questionnaires.

11: Who should I contact if I am considering registering for a place at the setting?

Please contact me directly.

12: What arrangements does the setting have for feedback from parents / carers, including compliments and complaints?

I have a complaints book and would ask for all comments to be written down for me.
