King, Kirstie

‘’Thank you for making us so relaxed when leaving xxxx with you. She adores coming to you ‘’ recent feedback from a new starter.

I am a family centred childminder and look forward to welcoming to our family.

I am passionate that children enjoy learning through play, my home is filled with resources that create awe and wonder with the children. My authentic resources include clogs, real retro telephones, light boxes, wooden and wicker baskets and bowls.

I have been childminding since 2002.

My costs are transparent. I publish my holidays many months in advance. I do not add any other costs onto my monthly invoice other than my hourly rate. I believe that there should be no surprises at the end of the month! I do ask that children bring their own packed healthy lunch.

Local Offer Description

My childminding service is friendly, and all children become part of our family.

1: How does the setting identify children with additional needs or SEND?

I use the QEd tracker book for all preschool children to monitor their stages in development.

2: How will I be informed / consulted about the ways in which my child is being supported?

I believe in constant communication with parents, in the form of informal chats, daily diaries, QEd tracker books and learning journals and the use of Bracknell Forest Approved monitoring feedback paperwork.

3: How will the setting adapt the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for my child's needs?

I believe that all children are unique and my setting and activities are adapted for each child's unique and individual needs.

4: What teaching strategies does the setting use for children with additional needs or learning difficulties?

In a friendly, small setting, children learn in a way suitable for their needs.

5: What additional support does the setting provide for children with additional needs or SEND?

I have attended many training courses that ensure help in my support for children with additional needs or SEND.

I am happy to attend any further courses that would assist my care for your child.

6: How will the setting monitor my child's progress and how will I be involved in this?

I use the QEd tracker books and also Bracknell Forest approved paperwork.

7: How do you ensure children with additional needs or SEND can be included in the same activities as other children, including trips?

By understanding all the children in my care, I can ensure that all children are included.

8: How accessible is the building for children with mobility difficulties / wheelchair users?

I have a ramped front driveway, and a step to my front door. I have standard sized doorways.

9: How will you support my child's transition to a new setting or school?

I work with all children and families to ensure a safe transition to a new setting.

10: How does the setting assess the overall effectiveness of its SEN provision and how can parents / carers take part in this evaluation?

11: Who should I contact if I am considering registering for a place at the setting?

Kirstie King - kirstie.king@yahoo.com

12: What arrangements does the setting have for feedback from parents / carers, including compliments and complaints?

I am happy to receive feedback  from parents, and use the timescales required by Ofsted for complaints.
