NCT Mother and Baby Yoga Bracknell

NCT Mother and Baby Yoga is a great way to get out of the house and meet other mums with babies aged 8 weeks to crawling.  It combines gentle exercise for you and your baby to do together as well as offering time for relaxation. Join us at Jennett’s Park Community Centre on Wednesdays 11-12.30 and 12.45-14.15 (free parking). It’s a very relaxed atmosphere; you can feed and change your baby whenever you like and they are not expected to ‘behave’! It costs £9.50 for a unique 90-minute session to give time for facilitated mum-focused conversation and refreshments.  Discounts of up to 90% available – please enquire in confidence.

For mums - ease your way back into exercise with gentle stretching and toning.

For babies - encourage development with music and movement and parachute games.

For you both - discover new ways to exercise and play together, bond with your baby and make friends.

Our vision

Our vision is of a world in which no parent is isolated and all parents are supported to build a stronger society.

Our mission

Our mission is to support parents throughout the first 1,000 days to have the best possible experience of pregnancy, birth and early parenthood.

We do this though three interconnected aims.

Sharing knowledge: informing parents’ decisions and increasing their confidence.

Creating networks: forging vital friendships.

Harnessing voices: changing public policy and attitudes for good.

Our Goals

To fulfil our full potential, we commit to five core goals:

  1. Strengthening our work in antenatal education and infant feeding.
  2. Increasing our reach into less affluent communities and to parents at greater risk of isolation.
  3. Expanding the support we provide to parents postnatally.
  4. Modernising our public image to ensure we are seen as relevant and trusted in all sections of society.
  5. Being the best we can be - building a brilliant organisation to support our incredible movement of volunteers and practitioners.

About me

I qualified in 2009 with a Diploma in Postnatal Group Facilitation through the University of Bedfordshire to run NCT Early Days discussion courses.  I then trained for NCT  Mother and Baby Yoga and have been running it since 2013 at Jennett’s Park.  I also run NCT Baby Massage.  I love supporting new mums journeys into motherhood; it’s a great privilege to do so.  Whether in NCT Early Days, NCT Mother and Baby Yoga or NCT Baby Massage sessions I aim to support mums by facilitating the group to share experiences and knowledge and therefore increase mums confidence in their own abilities as a mother.  I am non-judgemental and use active listening skills to help mums work out how they want to be with their babies and new family.  I also run the Crowthorne and Sandhurst NCT branch Bumps and Babies group and regularly host events and raise funds for the charity.  I firmly believe in ‘mothering the mother’ because as Ricki Lake said, “Motherhood is the greatest thing and the hardest thing”.  I should know, my boys are now 14 and 20!

Feedback received 29th March 2018

“Just to reiterate what a fantastic class this is and how it combines a great mum workout and fun for the babies. Helen is an excellent teacher and so caring towards the babies. I particularly love how Helen adds in a theme such as the extra songs for Easter this week. I look forward to the next round of sessions and will be truly sad when I can no longer attend.”
