I am an experienced childminder - having cared for over 40 children. I provide high quality childcare in a home-from-home setting. My service is warm, friendly and inclusive. I recognise that your child is an individual - and that their development, happiness and safety are my goals. I offer a full range of activities – plenty of art, messy play, planting and growing, music, cooking, role play, etc.

We visit parks, library, The Lookout and I have my own allotment and take the children there to dig, plant, harvest!

My home is open plan with a conservatory and good size garden. and I have a large and varied selection of indoor / outdoor toys for all ages. I have rest / sleeping facilities upstairs and a study for  children to retreat to for homework. I have a very friendly cat and neither my husband or I smoke.

Local Offer Description

Winkfield St Mary Breakfast and After school club only

1: How does the setting identify children with additional needs or SEND?

When a child starts with me I spend a few weeks observing carefully where I think they are in their development. This helps me to plan activities to help in their future development. I work closely with parents on this. If I thought that your child had an additional need I would work with you to get the support that we need to help your child.

2: How will I be informed / consulted about the ways in which my child is being supported?

I ask for information about your child before they start with me. If a care plan is required for your child I will work with you to develop it.

3: How will the setting adapt the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for my child's needs?

n/a - I am not providing care to Early Years children

4: What teaching strategies does the setting use for children with additional needs or learning difficulties?

I treat each child as an individual and adapt activities so that each child is included.

Where possible I will acquire resources relevant to your child's needs.

I will ask for training, additional help and advice if necessary from relevant authorities.

5: What additional support does the setting provide for children with additional needs or SEND?

If your child needs additional support that I do not have experience in I will ask my Local Authority for help in finding the relevant training/ support.

6: How will the setting monitor my child's progress and how will I be involved in this?

I wull work with you and other child care professionals and take advice on how to monitor and pass information on to you.

7: How do you ensure children with additional needs or SEND can be included in the same activities as other children, including trips?

I risk assess for activities and outings and I adjust activities according to each child's abilities.

8: How accessible is the building for children with mobility difficulties / wheelchair users?

I have one step into my front door, one step down from my conservatory into the garden. There is a lip from the dining room into the conservatory.

The living room, dining room, kitchen are open plan and flat. The garden is flat.

If a child uses a wheelchair I think it would be best for the parents to actually view my setting to see if it was accessible.  I am very prepared for a parent to have a look as they would know their child's needs.

9: How will you support my child's transition to a new setting or school?

I offer transitional visits and would be happy to visit your home if it would help to settle your child. I would work with you to settle your child.

10: How does the setting assess the overall effectiveness of its SEN provision and how can parents / carers take part in this evaluation?

I provide parent's and children with questionnaires to fill in - I also ask for regular feedback.

11: Who should I contact if I am considering registering for a place at the setting?

me - Jane Bromfield

12: What arrangements does the setting have for feedback from parents / carers, including compliments and complaints?

I have references from all of my current parents.

I keep a compliments / complaints book and display the 'Contact Ofsted' poster.
